What was everyone's biggest growth spurt? When did it happen, and how did you change as a result?
My biggest growth spurt was in the 8th grade. Before it, I was a small 4'10". Then I grew 8 inches in about 6 months or so. While 5'6" isn't tall, and I wouldn't reach my full height of 6'6" for another few years, I felt gigantic at the end of the spurt. It was close to a 14% increase in height in a short period of time. I also felt a lot heavier, but it a good way, since my increase in weight was not getting fatter but more height, wider shoulders, stronger legs and arms, etc. Before I was short compared to my friends, but afterwards I was more normal sized.

Captian: I was most afraid of people who had similar growth spurts at that age. It was most fearsome when they reached over 6' and liked to experiment with their new size with their smaller classmates or upperclassmen. While 5'6' wasn't impressively tall, given your adult height your "wingspan" along with your legs are much longer than MOST kids in your height range, giving you many athletic advantages. Thus to a a HS junior like me at THAT height you would still SEEM taller.
